Nearly the last thing to do on the log cabin!! Jamie is pictured in the process of fitting a brass porthole to the door of his log cabin. The porthole was reclaimed from a piece of plywood that had been washed ashore on the Solway coast near Rockcliffe. The original glass had been shattered and Jamie had to cut the new piece himself. Anyone who has tried cutting glass with straight cuts will appreciate that to cut a circular cut is an extremely tricky process even with full sight.
